All of the sounds you here in their songs are actually being made by them and not just with a synthesizer.
First Listen: Lucius, 'Wildewoman'
The third song they perform, "Genevieve", dildewoman with FOUR of the five members using drum sticks with 3 of them using various drums. They perform their their last song, "Two of Us", using one mic while standing within a few feet of each other out in the middle of the audience. Not all of the 30 second previews were enough to lucis me pull the trigger, so I looked them up on You Tube as others have recommended and came across a 46 minute performance titled "Lucius - Full Performance Live on KEXP ".
Their songs are spacious and propulsive, the sounds around the edges quirky and sometimes percussive, and the music and the words built for maximum effect wildewoan the choruses. Now I cannot stop listening to Lucius and San Fermin. Universal acclaim - based on 6 Ratings.
