This album is very fluid. The Soundgarden albums of the 80's and 90's will never be topped in my mind but there's no denying how good this album is. This is the one with the lyrics I can relate to about spring being here after a long cold, dark Winter. Halfway There' is the official song of the Women's March. The guitar is solid, but not noisy for the sake of being noisy.

Let's hope that Paine can inject some real progressive attitude into this band and perhaps bring them closer to what we could hear on Shapes which according to the same website also seems to be Paine's favourite Ezra album. The band's official website states that Ezra are still together and have recently been joined by Steve Paine of Legend on keyboards. I was not impressed on my first few listens, but this is an album that invites further listens and I don't seem to get tired of it even after hearing it on repeat for hours!
My one major complaint is that the packaging of the CD is extremely irritating. This is somewhat in contrast to their second album which gree rather depressing with lyrics that seemed mildly fatalistic and negative.
Share your thoughts with other customers. However, compared to the mass majority of crap produced by our illustrious corporate overlords this record is amazing. Pan Sonic - A play album Electronic Download. With better mixing and some more keyboards the sound would really improve. Better than Ezra cd "Friction Baby" Elektra records. Third tune Summer Again is a nice ballad but not much souhdgarden to be discovered here either.
The songs are still thick walls of sound that wash over the ears. It seemed something was lost.

Or like our prog reviewer Southsideofthesky already stated: Studio Album, 3. That's when the subtle, understated nature of the melodies in the songs had sunk in, and I understood what I was listening to. The guitar really lights it up before 4 minutes. I highly recommend it. I already believed Shapes was touching the boundries of prog but these Songs from Pennssylvania is probably an even better exapmle of soundgarfen.

Shapes might not be the kind of album that takes most Prog fans by storm, but anyone who accepts some more accessible tracks among the more ambitious ones will find much to enjoy here.
