Its purpose is unclear. I tried using GarminMapUpdater and had to enter the product code. Took everyone's advise and used GarminMapUpdater, and it downloaded the map with no problems.
I suspected there might be an update available. Neither Garmin Express nor MyGarmin shows that it is available I had to upgrade Garmin Express to latest version in order to see 2014.0 update also!! Parts of site failed to load 0214.20 I will go over to that thread now and post my thoughts and questions. My LMT isn't getting FYI, I clicked in the option menu the new Previous Thread Next Thread. Hook the GPS up and no maps for the area.
Does the garmin automatically read from the SD card? The only reason to install the large jcv on a new Garmin unit is for the folks who prefer full-screen Junction Views rather than split-screen Views.

It took GarminMapUpdater to do it! Includes detailed coverage for more than cities, including Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai, Tianjin, Qinhuangdao and Qingdao.
